My name is Warren Harris. I am a registered electrical inspector, and an approved EWRB competency training provider. I am also a qualified electricity network operator, field switcher and power technician and have an NZDE. I have worked in the electricity industry since 1995, and have worked for myself for a period from 2003 to 2011. I currently work for The Lines Company as an engineer, focusing on SCADA, communications, network control, and network safety for the customers between Otorohanga and Ohakune, Mokau and Mokai.

The electricity industry in New Zealand is in a constant state of change and I believe it is absolutely important, as professionals in the industry we work in, to stay current with the ever changing rules and regulations. I achieve this by belonging to the New Zealand Electrical Inspectors Association, as well as several forums. I take this information and pass it on to you, the electrical worker on the front line of the industry.

To help cover the lower half of the North Island, Inspector Magoo contracts to Upstage Productions to deliver the program

Miquel van der Wees of Current Affairs Electrical Inspections Ltd. In the local Wanganui (or with H) industry I’m mainly known as Magoo. A nickname given to me by my mate Happy, some 20 years ago. I’ve been an inspector since 2011 and have over 20 years industry experience. I belong to the New Zealand Electrical Inspectors Association and I’m a member of Master Electricians. I’m self-employed and I really enjoy most aspects of that. My focus is on electrical inspections of mains work, solar PV (on and off grid), caravan/campervan electrical warrants of fitness, some spray booth and small-scale hazardous area’s, home owner electrical and pre purchase inspections. I believe in constant education of myself (keeping up to date) and enjoy passing on my knowledge to others. Since 2017 I’ve been contracting to Warren to help present these refresher courses and it also helps me learn more through the interaction with attendees.
