UPSTAGE PRODUCTIONS Director & COURSE INSTRUCTOR for the middle and upper North Island
 WARREN HARRIS

My name is Warren Harris. I am a registered electrical inspector, and an approved EWRB competency training provider. I am also a qualified electricity network operator, field switcher and power technician and have an NZDE. I have worked in the electricity industry since 1995, and have worked for myself for a period from 2003 to 2011. I currently work for The Lines Company as an engineer, focusing on SCADA, communications, network control, and network safety for the customers between Otorohanga and Ohakune, Mokau and Mokai.

I am also heavily involved in the amateur radio hobby throughout New Zealand.   I have served on council on more than one occasion and have immersed myself in the many varied aspects of the hobby, including mentoring of new members and setting up the New Zealand "Summits On The Air" (SOTA)  award.  I was a founding member of the team who began our now widely used "Ham Cram" program to get new members into the hobby and fast track them to receiving their ZL call sign, and still run these course in a few locations as needed.

The electricity industry in New Zealand is in a constant state of change and I believe it is absolutely vital, as professionals in the industry we work in, to stay current with the ever changing rules and regulations. I achieve this by belonging to the New Zealand Electrical Inspectors Association, as well as several forums. I take this information and pass it on to you, the electrical worker on the front line of the industry.

Miquel van der Wees, of Current Affairs Electrical Inspections Ltd, is based in the local Wanganui (or with an H for those who spell it that way) area, and is widely known as Magoo by many.  A nickname given to him by his old friend "Happy" some 20 years ago.

Magoo has been an inspector since 2011 and has over 20 years industry experience. He belongs to the New Zealand Electrical Inspectors Association. Magoo is self-employed and enjoys the aspects of combining flexibility in his work life with family commitments. His focus is on electrical inspections of mains work, solar PV (on and off grid), caravan/camper-van electrical warrants of fitness, some spray booth and small-scale hazardous area’s, home owner electrical and pre-purchase inspections.

Magoo believes constantly educating himself (keeping up to date) is an important part of being proactive in our industry and he enjoys passing on his knowledge to others.

Magoo has been contracting with Upstage Productions since 2017 and is a valued member of our team.  His role is to assist bringing Upstage's Courses to those in the electrical industry around the lower parts of the North Island, alongside our first aid providers in those areas - Links Training.  He enjoys the social aspects and interactions with our customers, and enjoys learning from them at the same time.

UPSTAGE PRODUCTIONS BOOKINGS/OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
EMMA HARRIS -

email: sales@upstage.net.nz

Emma, is our bookings extraordinaire. She balances her work around our family and our increasingly busy lives.

Yes, you probably have guessed - she is my wife. Having her on board as part of our motivated team, means I have more time to dedicate to bringing our courses to you, alongside continuing with my work in other area's of the electrical industry and various within amateur radio.

Emma's employment background began as a Registered Nurse after leaving school and completing her bachelors degree. After a change in family circumstances, she changed direction to dedicate more time to being an active part of her children's lives, while remaining in active employment in one form or another. She has worked with families and children over the years in the home based educational care sector as well as other nursing and administrative roles, and enjoys working with people from all walks of life.

Emma now enjoys the social aspect of working with our customers here at Upstage Productions, and ensuring that we get you on a course at a time that suits you. Emma is also a keen hobby photographer in her spare time, and is a mother to two busy teenagers.

It is Emma you will most likely hear from when you book into one of our courses via the website, and who will send all our course information out to you.
